In Final Fantasy XIV, the FATE system is a series of short events that pop up all over the world. Sometimes you might be tasked with defeating an insane band of fungus creatures, sometimes you have to drive back an invasion of bandits, and sometimes you just have to beat the tar out of a new recruit.
