MMO Fallout’s Big Abandonware List

The big abandonware list is a compilation of massively multiplayer games on Steam that have been abandoned over the years. The games on this list fulfill most if not all of the following criteria;

1. The developer is no longer present.
2. The game hasn’t received updates in over a year (or shorter if the developer is confirmed out of business).
3. Services have been shut down.

• ABD: A Beautiful Day
  • Last Update: February 28, 2017
  • Status: Servers offline, game unplayable.
  • Comment: Costs $25 for a broken product. Developers have not been present for four years.
• Badland Bandits
  • Last Update: ????
  • Status: Servers offline, unplayable.
  • Comment: Badland Bandits is free to play but should still be removed from the store. Developers abandoned it years ago.
• Dark and Light
  • Last Update: October 25, 2019
  • Status: Playable but abandoned.
  • Comment: Dark and Light appears to have been abandoned in favor of developing a mobile spinoff.
• Deepworld
  • Last Update: September 16, 2019
  • Status: Shut Down.
  • Comment: DeepWorld is a free to play game whose servers were shut down in 2019. It is possible to find server files and run your own server, and the game is free to play.
• Fallalypse Disconnect
  • Last Update: 2019?
  • Status: Unplayable.
  • Comment: Game appears to have been a scam or the dreams of a developer with more vision than talent. Dumped on Steam and apparently abandoned almost immediately.
• Fantasy Era
  • Last Update: November 22, 2017
  • Status: Abandoned
  • Comment: None
• Fantasy Tales Online
  • Last Update: March 31, 2019
  • Status: Offline, Development Suspended.
  • Comment: The developer has put the game on hold for the foreseeable future due to lack of funds. It’s free to play so it’s only wasting bandwidth.
• Hide & Hold Out – H2o
  • Last Update: April 7, 2018
  • Status: Online but no community.
  • Comment: Developer abandoned the game back in 2018. Costs money but is unplayable due to the dead userbase.
• Hurricane
  • Last Update: ???
  • Status: Abandoned.
  • Comment: Developer abandoned the game effectively the day it launched. 0 updates on the news page.
• Identity
  • Last Update: June 26, 2019
  • Status: Online but abandoned.
  • Comment: At $30, Identity is effectively a scam. It’s a town square prototype for a game that will never come into existence.
• Kingdoms In Chaos
  • Last Update: November 24, 2021
  • Status: Offline
  • Comment: The game is free to play and has no DLC store so there’s no risk of losing money. Servers broken. Devs abandoned.
• Lonath Online
  • Last Update: December 24, 2015
  • Status: Offline, game unplayable.
  • Comment: Scam, costs $6.99 for a nonfunctioning product. Valve have ignored all reports.
• Magnificent 5
  • Last Update: March 7, 2020
  • Status: Online but no community, unplayable.
  • Comment: Another Free Reign Entertainment scam. Dead on day one, abandoned by developers.
• Metal War Online: Retribution
  • Last Update: February 21, 2018
  • Status: Unknown, Development Ceased.
  • Comments: Game is free to play.
• Minimon
  • Last Update: August 22, 2019
  • Status: Maintenance Mode
  • Comments: One person working on remaking the game, current version has been abandoned despite still being sold for $10.
• Mortal Royale
  • Last Update: December 21, 2018
  • Status: Online, but unplayable.
  • Comments: A battle royale with no players might as well be offline.
• Mystica: The Ninth Society
  • Last Update: January 20, 2017
  • Status: Servers offline. Private servers available.
  • Comments: Official servers are offline. Developers released server tools for community servers. The game itself is free.
• Outlaws of the Old West
  • Last Update: May 5, 2020
  • Status: Unknown.
  • Comments: None.
•  Soulfire
  • Last Update: July 9, 2020
  • Status: Playable, abandoned.
  • Comment: Used to be free, now costs $7. Nobody is playing this, let alone the developers.
• Space Universe
  • Last Update: July 15, 2016
  • Status: Nonfunctional, abandoned.
  • Comments: Developer jumped ship in 2016.
• Tactical Craft Online
  • Last Update: June 10, 2019
  • Status: Servers in such a bad state that it’s basically unplayable.
  • Comments: Developer has abandoned this title to work on Sigma World Online. Don’t expect updates or a functioning game server.
• Tale of Toast
  • Last Update: February 1, 2021
  • Status: Online, abandoned by devs.
  • Comments: Tale of Toast is skirting a Steam ban on games integrating crypto. Virtually no players, devs are absent.
• Ultimo Reino
  • Last Update: February 10, 2020
  • Status: Questionable, but abandoned.
  • Comments: Server appears to be down. Game has been abandoned for sequel that itself may be abandoned.
• Ultimo Reino 2
  • Last Update: June 6, 2020
  • Status: Offline, abandoned.
  • Comments: Developer has booked it according to moderators on the game’s forums, and hasn’t been heard from in some time.
• The Yellow King
  • Last Update: June 19, 2020
  • Status: Abandoned.
  • Comments: Game has regularly gone on sale in 2021 despite developers being radio silent for over a year. Development has seemingly been abandoned for the game The Infinite Black.
• Voice of Pripyat
  • Last Update: February 9, 2015
  • Status: Nonfunctional, Abandoned
  • Comment: Voice of Pripyat is a scam that Valve have refused to take down from the store. $6.99 gets you a digital paperweight that does not work and whose creator abandoned it years ago.
• Win That War
  • Last Update: June 28, 2017
  • Status: Abandoned, servers offline.
  • Comment: $20 for a game that had development for two months before the developers ran off and abandoned it.
