The Great Sidward Odyssey
Today’s video is less of a video and more of a trilogy of videos discussing a growing topic here at MMO Fallout; Day of Dragons. I’ve spoken probably more about Day of Dragons on Twitter than here on this website, mostly because the topics revolve around petty squabbles by random internet users and this isn’t exactly the appropriate place for that.
Day of Dragons for those not in the loop was Kickstarted to the tune of $500 grand by developer Beawesome Games and launched in early access on Steam late last year. The game got a bit of attention due to the fact that the game is pretty much entirely placeholder store-bought assets. Normally the story would end there, however the story has continued to evolve thanks to the inability of Beawesome head honcho Jao to accept criticism as well as a small contingency of Day of Dragons fans stalking and harassing critics, and in more than one case sending death and dox threats.
Youtube Sid “Sidward” Alpha has been working hard over the past few months to compile a Dirty Devs video about Day of Dragons. The entire video is split into three parts and runs roughly one hour forty minutes. Watch it, in three parts if you need to. There is a lot of useful information surrounding the game, its staff, and its community.
