Don’t Buy Your Valorant Account, Riot Is Banning Them

Don’t do it.

Spending money to jump ahead of the line and get into the beta for a game whose full release is just a couple of months ahead is, to say the least, ridiculous. Spending the $75-150 that Valorant beta accounts are going for on Ebay for a game that is coming out in a few months is, to say the least, an incredible waste of money.

Even more so when you consider that the account will likely get banned.

The only way to get into the Valorant beta right now outside of being an established streamer is to watch said established streamers on Twitch. Watch a base amount of time and you’re added to the pool, keep watching and you have a chance at getting a key. Naturally this has led to a large amount of botting accounts and people trying to make a buck off of what is turning out to be much wanted beta access.

But Riot says don’t be so quick to pull out that credit card, because account sellers are getting banned and that means that beta account you threw down cash on is probably going to be lost for good.

We’ve banned a pile of VALORANT closed beta account sellers and botters to free up more entitlements. Tracking more. Don’t buy accounts, you might lose them!

I have come across a total of one person who took to Twitter to express that the account they bought had been banned so it looks like those who are getting swept up aren’t too keen on publicizing their shame.
