Xbox One X Sales Jumped Exponentially Today

Without rushing to conclusions.

Amazon’s movers and shakers section covers the movers and shakers of the industry, specifically the hardware and software that is trending thanks to lots of people going on Amazon.com and buying them. Now if you haven’t been paying attention to the news or the industry you may not know that Microsoft launched pre-orders for the Xbox Series S/X today. You may also not be reading this website because you don’t keep up on industry news.

While the Series X and its little brother the Series S sold out pretty quickly across all retailers, it appears that people are heading to the next best thing; the current gen consoles. Is it because of confusion? Because the general public might not understand the difference between the Series X and the One X? Is it because the panic caused people to accidentally buy the wrong thing? Possibly. We won’t really know until Amazon starts getting hit with a deluge of 1 star reviews with comments like “wtf I bought this for my kid thinking it was the new console and it’s the old one?”

According to Amazon’s charts the Xbox One X 1TB console is trending with a 431% increase in its sales rank. That’s the discontinued model, which as of right now has six units left in stock meaning a fair few got swept up today. The other listing for the Xbox One X, the renewed model, is up 101%. Unsurprisingly the list also contains many Xbox upcoming titles.
