Habbo Fully Integrates Unity Engine

As Flash dies, Habbo moves over to Unity.

Habbo has fully completed its integration of the Unity engine as Flash has been depreciated and is no longer supported on most systems. Sulake announced today that 2021 will mark a new era for the game as the company introduces new technology to improve the user experience and tighten security.

“Our full transition into Unity marks the first milestone in a long line of new and improved content that we have in store,” said Sulake CEO Valtteri Karu. “Since Habbo started in 2000 we have been fortunate to have millions of active and passionate fans, and we want to assure you that this is not a reinvention of Habbo but a refurbishment that takes advantage of modern technology to make the Habbo that you love even better while still retaining the aspects of it that have made it so popular.”

Habbo is introducing new features on the Unity engine including level progression, daily gifts, achievement rewards, and user-to-user donations. The update to Unity also marks the return of the marketplace and trading system.

The continued existence of Habbo is a diametric opposite to Zynga’s decision to shut down Farmville.
