Blizzard Cheapens Controversial Classic Clone Costs

After community reaction was not cash money.

World of Warcraft Classic is about to head into the next phase of development; that being with the upcoming release of the Burning Crusade expansion. While players have the option to either stay in Classic or move on to the Burning Crusade. Or they can pick both, for a nominal fee. The original price to do this was set at $35.

Naturally the announcement caused a tidal wave of backlash, as cloning characters costs Blizzard absolutely nothing, requires no additional work, and has no reason to be so expensive (or for that matter cost anything at all). Following a week of backlash, the folks at Blizzard announced the cost of cloning your character will be reduced when it becomes available. Not removed, just reduced.

The new cost of cloning is $15. You might be forgiven for thinking this was all pre-planned.
