Mass exodus of writers after editor in chief is fired.
The Escapist may just be done for, folks. Earlier today the website’s editor in chief Nick Calandra was fired, noting on Twitter that he refused to sign an NDA and would forego a severance payment tied to said NDA. Calandra notes that he and others are working to build a new website of sorts.
MMO Fallout will update this piece as more people are confirmed to have quit or been fired.
Well the story doesn’t stop there. Since Calandra’s firing a whole host of other Escapist members have come forward to announce their firing or resignation. Perhaps most notably being Yahtzee Croshaw who most of you will recognize from the long-running series Zero Punctuation.
Also on the list is former senior media producer Janjo who notes the entire video team was either fired or walked out.
