Probably.
Today is December 2, which marks the final day of the Fortnite OG season. It’s safe to say the last season has been a massive success. The month-long season launched to a record-setting 44.7 million people playing it on November 4, with a peak of nearly 6.2 million concurrent users according to tracking website Fortnite.gg.
Fortnite’s OG season is a callback to the game’s first chapter with some variations thanks to timeline mishaps. The season lasted a month with accelerated (if altered) map changes mimicking Chapter 1, with the final event scheduled for 2p.m. EST today (December 2).
It’d be insane for Epic Games not to capitalize on this success, and a good amount of conversation over the last few weeks has been whether or not they would make the map a permanent fixture in the Fortnite world. Well, probably not. But Epic is open to bringing the OG season back in some format (likely to give their programmers time to make new content) in the future.
The game’s Twitter account today noted adding the OG season to the 2024 roadmap. We’ll have to wait for more details on how exactly this will manifest.
