Helldivers 2 is coming out tomorrow, a coop shooter by Arrowhead Game Studios that promises “fast, frantic, and ferocious” gameplay. Sure, why not? The game is heading to Steam and consoles, where it is also promising that the developers will actively and manually mess with your game like Dungeons & Dragons game masters, by applying buffs or debuffs if they look at your session and think it needs to be thrown through a loop.
So expect players to get really upset if a GM hasn’t affected their game after six seconds of playing it.
But Helldivers 2 appears to be really taking off among gamers, and it has jettisoned the title to the top selling Steam spot right now. Fantastic. I’m not going to tell people to stop preordering games because those of you amenable to that statement stopped preordering games a long time ago and those of you who haven’t gotten the message are just going to keep doing it anyway.
So I’m just going to say, good luck. I hope you have the time of your life and everything goes great and the game works flawlessly and you’re not impatient about day one launch problems.
Otherwise I have no opinion on the matter.
