Servers remain offline after update.
Fortnite opened Pandora’s Box today and in true fashion to the mythological artifact, they inadvertently placed a curse on the Epic servers. Shortly after the servers went down for maintenance the folks at the Fortnite Status Twitter account posted some bad news. Maintenance wasn’t going well and would need to be extended a few hours. And then eight more hours.
And it’s still not going well, because twelve hours later the servers remain offline. What’s the problem? Something technical I’m sure, all that jargon is basically Greek to me.
Players should be able to download a new version of the update tonight, but there’s not quite a timeline for when people will be able to dive into the new content. John Travolta and Olivia Newton John skins not part of the update.
Meanwhile we’re just going to laugh at all the dorks who took the day off work and still didn’t get to play the update.
