You show me someone who knew Bill Roper would be appearing in the news in 2024 making a Hellgate game and I’ll show you a dirty shameless liar. Hellgate fell into the hands of Hanbitsoft following the shuttering of Flagship Studios and since then the game has been suffering at the hands of a neglectful and wholly incompetent studio keen on pushing the laziest relaunches alongside an embarrassingly bad VR title.
The good news is that Bill Roper is back working on a game in Hellgate. Roper announced today that his studio Lunacy Games is working on two titles; a western game and a new Hellgate title. Will it be a looter shooter? We have no idea.

Interesting news, didn’t expect to hear the name ‘Hell Gate’ ever again.
I’m holding out hope for this on the simple grounds that Bill can’t possibly produce something worse than Hanbitsoft has done with the game over the last decade.
