Today’s news comes to us from Stray Kite Studios, a new studio boasting developers who worked on well known titles like Age of Empires, Borderlands, and BioShock. Stray Kite is announcing their first game this week, a real-time tactics roguelite. Called Wartorn.
“Wartorn challenges players to navigate the chaos of a divided world while finding purpose and joy in selflessness,” said Paul Hellquist, Creative Director and Co-founder of Stray Kite Studios. “We’ve poured our hearts into creating a game that not only entertains but also makes players think deeply about sacrifice, survival, and the bonds that unite us.”
Set for release into early access in Spring 2025, Wartorn utilizes dynamic combat and destructible environments, as well as elemental-based combat as you level up your heroes through successive runs.
“Our vision for Wartorn is a game that seamlessly blends artistic expression, tactical depth, and emotional resonance,” said Shovaen Patel, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Stray Kite Studios. “We want players to feel like every choice matters, both on the battlefield and in the story.”
