David Haddad fired amid series of management failures.
WB Games announced this past week that it is sunsetting its CEO David Haddad’s employment at the company. The news comes on the heel of several years of mismanagement at Haddad’s hand of Warner Bros. gaming division that saw the launch and subsequent underperformance of titles including MultiVersus and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Under Haddad’s leadership, MultiVersus has had two launches where the game very quickly lost a large majority of its player base due to the game’s heavy handed monetization, long grind, and battle pass. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League similarly saw losses as Warner Bros. attempted to ride the coattails of the live service trend that has seen a tidal wave of failed titles launch and end support early over the last few years.
Despite the failures of their live service titles and success of AAA single player games like Hogwarts Legacy, Warner Bros. has stated that they have no intention of straying from their plan of making less titles like Hogwarts Legacy and more titles like MultiVersus.
Because who wants to spend years making a game that brings in tons of money when you can pump them out by the dozen and lose hundreds of millions instead?
