Path of Exile 2 Tells Players They Gotta Go Fast

Starts talking about races.

Are you a Path of Exile racist? Racer? Alright, bad wording on that sentence. Do you like to play Path of Exile really fast? There we go. With the next patch a good month out, Grinding Gear Games announced today that Path of Exile 2 will be hosting a series of races over the next few weeks.

While the team are working hard on the 0.2.0 content update, which we expect to release in approximately one month, we’ll be running a series of races in Path of Exile 2 starting from the 2nd of March PST that will be open to everyone. While the races are open, the purpose of them is to crown players that are willing to prove themselves against others. These races will be the first event in Path of Exile 2 that will introduce the new series of Demigod items as prizes.

The goal of the race will be to reach Act 3 and be the first to kill Doryani in a standard solo self-found fixed layout environment. If you don’t speak PoE-ese, that means you can’t have other people help you out. The event is not hardcore, but death will inflict a 1-minute movement penalty.

Depending on your place in the world, you may need to skip church to attend the race. There are three races scheduled on March 2, 9, and 16, all set to start at either 11a.m. or noon Pacific. That’s 2-3p.m. EST for those of you checking the true time.

You have six chances to win, since the crown will be given to the first player in each class. The prize helmet will even be tradeable, so you might want to go ahead and beef up that account security if you’re going to go for the prize.

Check it out.
