We here at MMO Fallout love indie devs and anything that can put some cash in their pockets. Today the folks at Global Game Jam announced that they are partnering with Blue Ocean Games. What is Blue Ocean Games? Well they are a new $30 million early stage game fund.
Dubbed the “Rising Tide Challenge,” Global Game Jam has announced a competition running through May. The “trailer jam” runs May 1 through 31 and includes cash prizes. The top 20 teams will see their applications fast-tracked for up to $300,000 in investment.
All they are asking for is a short, polished, in-engine game concept trailer that shows off the core gameplay ideas.
Check out the official website. Blue Ocean Games was founded by former head of investments at Krafton, Damian Lee. Blue Ocean hopes to invest in 100 indie devs over the next three years.
