Through sheer incompetence of leadership.
All brands have a reputation and this week the executives at Fandom decided it would be best to burn that to the ground along with the gaming website Giant Bomb. Following the embarrassing mockery from their podcast hosts and from much of the internet regarding a new brand-aware content strategy, Fandom has apparently decided to just cut off Giant Bomb at the neck.
It should be noted that Fandom’s operational strategy appears to be taking products and making them less user-friendly, more frustrating, and to stuff them full of ads until like a goose being raised for foi gras, they die in an unhealthy and unethical manner to be butchered. As such content is currently on hold at the website according to Kotaku, with the departure of creative director Dan Ryckert as well as Jeff Grub.

More on this as it appears.
