Finally some good news.
In a world where the games press constantly seems to be downsizing and getting shut down, we finally have some good news. If you’ve been following the drama over the last week or so, you’re already aware that Giant Bomb has been burning to the ground due to the gross incompetence of its executive leadership at Fandom.
I don’t want to be mean but Fandom’s entire operation seems to have been inspired by the CEO looking at a diagram of testicular torsion and saying “let’s translate this to a website user experience.” With a few personalities leaving the website, people have been wondering if Giant Bomb would just be shut down or converted to some AI slop factory as other websites have experienced.
Well, the good news is that Giant Bomb has been sold. To itself. Fandom has spun off the website and it is now worker-owned. People can now subscribe to Giant Bomb premium knowing that the money is going to the website instead of a company whose brand is all about making the worst designed wikis on the internet.
Long live Giant Bomb. And good luck, we’re all counting on you.
