Ship of Heroes Cuts Price, Drops Sub

By recommendation of current players.

Ship of Heroes is more than just the game you haven’t thought about since it launched to more developer temper tantrums than active concurrent players. But Ship of Heroes isn’t just a game that hasn’t peaked at more than 20 concurrent users since September.

It’s also a game that decided launching at $60 and charging $15 per month was a great idea. For an indie game whose graphics are on par with the old ReBoot TV show. But if you’ve been hankering at getting into Ship of Heroes, you’re in luck. The devs announced today that the price is being slashed in half and the subscription? It’s going away.

In a post on the official website, the folks at Heroic Games announced the new shift:

Following the recommendation of our current players, we are reducing the price of Ship of Heroes and removing the subscription.

Ship of Heroes still has no other monetization: no microtransactions, cash shop, addons, or premium anything.

Stay tuned for our next announcement of new content included in the price.

This does beg the question, if a tree lowers its price in the woods and nobody is around to notice, is any money being saved?
