Fortnite Universally Drops Prices 20% With Direct Pay

Get V-Bucks cheaper everywhere!

Epic Games has announced the Fortnite Mega Drop which is a 20% reduction in V-Bucks and real money offers inside the Fortnite shop when using direct payment. It’s not a temporary sale, this is permanent.

What we’re seeing here is a continuation of the crusade that Epic has been waging against the Google Store as well as iTunes and the fact that both companies take a 30% cut which Epic has called “exorbitant” several times in the past. While players haven’t had a choice in the matter, Fortnite now has a direct pay option available on Android and iOS.

To sweeten the deal, Epic is offering a 20% discount on those purchases with a snide comment toward Apple and Google’s policies.

Currently, there are no savings if players use Apple and Google payment options, where Apple and Google collect an exorbitant 30% fee on all payments. If Apple and Google lower their fees on payments, Epic will pass along the savings to players.

The good news is that regardless of your system you can get in on these deals. $10 in V-Bucks now cost roughly $8 even if you are buying from the PC or consoles. It’s definitely the latest move in Epic’s ongoing push to reduce mobile store cuts using the large sums of money Fortnite brings in on an annual basis as the bargaining chip.
