Microsoft has severed ties with Brazilian Youtuber Xbox Mil Grau over continued harassment regarding and offensive comments made toward minorities, women, and journalists. In a piece covered by Gita Jackson at Vice, people in the Brazilian gaming community note that channel creator Christopher Schlafner and staffer Henrique Martins have been hiding years of harassing conduct behind “humor and fanboyism.”
A video compilation shows the channel making incredibly racist comments about minority groups. The Youtube channel also has a history for organizing harassment campaigns against journalists for giving Xbox games low review scores. All of this came to a head with a racist Tweet on May 30, and since then the Xbox Mil Grau Twitch channel has been banned, Youtube has removed their videos, and Microsoft has severed ties.
