Steam: Five Games Everyone Wants – 12/13 Edition

Five games everyone wants, especially you.

It’s that time again to look at this week’s upcoming Steam releases to figure out what everyone wants. Yes everyone, and I mean that in the most literal sense. You, your mom, your neighbor’s dog, and especially your local UPS driver’s cousin. Everyone wants these games. The title is not artistic license to showcase what is simply most popular.

Anyway let’s move on.

Ancient Cities – Uncasual Games

Ancient Cities is a survival strategy city builder set during the ancient times. Start in the Mesolithic era and guide your people through generations of technological advancements, securing resources and protecting your civilization against threats both outside and in.

Ancient Cities drops on December 17.

Northern Lights – MadGoat Studio

You play the role of a forest ranger who was sent on a rescue mission and ended up trapped on an island whose climate has suffered mysterious and drastic changes. Massive blizzards, freezing temperatures and hungry predators are some of the dangers that threaten your survival.

Spellbreak – Proletariat Inc

Spellbreak is a multiplayer spellcasting game where players take on the role of a battlemage battling with their mage powers. Choose a class, combine your elemental powers, and outplay your rivals. The developer promises deep lore revealed as the world progresses and, even better, the game is free to play.

Pre-load available now, full launch on December 15.

Wattam – Funomena

Wattam feels like an LSD flashback to the days of Katamari Damacy and you wouldn’t be crazy for feeling that since this game is also from the mind of Keita Takahashi. I’ll let the Steam page explain what this game is about:

Wattam is the ultimate goof-around simulation. See what kinds of silly things happen when you push the limits of the game’s physics and animations to create crazy and comical results. Solving puzzles, uncovering secrets and playing mini-games has never been weirder or more wonderful. The sheer multitude of friendship combinations and hijinks means there’s always fun in store.

BOMJMAN – Unique Media

BOMJMAN looks like it was born out of the demented mind of David Firth. A hardcore indie shooter with a notable following in Russia, BOMJMAN will be available in English with subtitles as of December 15. As for deciphering the insane Russian mind that created this product, you’re on your own.
