Darkfall's Return Promo Caveat

Darkfall01

Aventurine has launched a brand new promotion to bring in new and returning Darkfall players. Starting February 5th and heading into the 13th, Aventurine has discounted the cost of the client by 75%, as well as 45% off of a six month subscription. Existing players with accounts in good standing will find that they are able to log in and play for free through the same period. The catch? You’ll have to contact support to reactivate your character if you’ve been gone for a while.

Please Note: Regarding the Return to Darkfall players: If your account has been inactive for over 3 months, your character is stored. In order to restore the character you need to contact support by submitting a support ticket and they will do it for you as quickly as possible.

Hopefully Aventurine’s support will be able to get to those characters in a timely manner.

World of Warcraft: Come Back For 7 Days

Seven days is all Samara needs to come out of the television and kill you. Oddly enough, that may also be how long it takes to get hooked back into World of Warcraft. If you quit World of Warcraft more than a month ago, odds are there is an email in your inbox inviting you to come back for seven days to give the game another go, assuming you hadn’t already with the fairly new up-to-level-20 extended trial.

If it’s been a long time since you last played, you will be relieved to hear that installing WoW is no longer an all day venture. Rather, thanks to Blizzard’s relatively new streaming service, you can get in the game in as little as a half hour, with the only downside being longer load times as the game downloads that zone’s information (30 seconds to a minute, I’ve found). You may also have to reset your password, as my initial attempts to log in were met with “your account has been locked” and requiring me to reset my password, and that is with authenticator ownership.

Still, World of Warcraft.

Rift Welcome Back Week Not Quite Working Yet

Former rift players, you’ve likely received an email from Trion regarding a welcome back week beginning today and lasting until July 19th. Excitedly (or with a simple motion of interest), you probably went to log in only to find yourself blocked by a “thank you for your interest, but you need to resubscribe” message. Trion is in the process of reactivating old accounts, and unfortunately the email was sent out earlier than expected to a lot of people. The following was posted by Trion’s Elrar on the forums:

Hey all,

We’re currently working to enable the 7 free days on all returning players accounts. The emails jumped the gun a bit as activating all accounts may take some time to complete, we’ll provide an announcement once all returning players can take advantage of the event.

Apologies for the confusion, but you do not need to setup a subscription, once your account is re-activated the only thing you’ll need to do is log in to the game – hang tight until the activations are complete.

Thanks!

I will update this once the process is complete, or you can just wait until later on to try and log in.
