Xbox Brazil Fires Host Because She Was Victim of Death Threats

Microsoft’s Brazil division is in hot water again.

Xbox Brazil is getting itself in hot water once again. Earlier this year we talked about how Xbox Brazil had severed ties with Youtuber Mil Grau after a seemingly endless amount of complaints over the individual’s offensive conduct, racist comments, and harassment campaigns against women and minorities. Today they are once again facing criticism over the dismissal of a host because she was the victim of death and rape threats.

Isadora Basile was brought on as a presenter for Xbox Brazil last month. According to a statement posted on Twitter today, Basile had been the subject of numerous threats of physical violence due to her position and over claims that she wasn’t a “real gamer”. According to Basile, Microsoft had made the decision to dismiss her from the position in order to quell the hate campaign.
