A few people have mailed in that they are unable to use the Final Fantasy XIV free trial because the launcher does not display a “create account” button. Luckily, user Treyu86 over at the MMORPG.com forums figured out how to get the button to show. All you have to do is delete the Final Fantasy XIV folder listed in C:/Users/”username”/My Documents/My Games.
Deleting that folder will cause the client to recognize you as a new user, and allow you to create an account. You have to create the account through the FFXIV trial client.
Thanks Treyu86!

u are the best. simply the best, thanks a lot
Does anyone know how to do the equivalent of this on a PS4? Its not letting me create my account on the PS4 free trial.
Hi Pezzi,
The trial on the Playstation 4 is currently Europe-only, for some unknown reason. The trial client is available on the EU PSN store, and account creation is done within the client itself, to the best of my knowledge.
Thanks, this fixed the problem!
this also works if you want to create another trial account…of course you ahve to go through the video again
Super helpful, thanks!
I love you mate! Thanks!
