Couldn’t look more out of place it if was cel-shaded.
Day of Dragons is a title we haven’t talked a lot about here at MMO Fallout, while developer Beawesome Games needs constant surveillance to make sure they aren’t doing something underhanded like hardcoding bans or committing perjury by abusing the Youtube copyright takedown feature to silence critics, or making sure associates of head honcho Jao are called out for threats of doxing and stalking critics. The normal stuff.
Day of Dragons doesn’t have an on-staff animator/rigger going by their Discord staff list, so the dragons in-game right now consist of pre-made assets bought on the Unreal Store. Five hundred grand well spent. The latest dragon release is the buff dragon, and if you want to add this dragon to your own game you can find it on the Unreal Store for $40. It’s not a bad deal, the package comes with four styles, five colors per style, and 150+ animations.
The screenshot below submitted to the community by user Stone?Claw highlights just how out of place the dragon looks compared to those already in the game. The buff dragon looks like something out of a Pixar cartoon while the other dragons look like they were yanked directly from Everquest. But this is what you get when you hand a ton of money to a guy who is not a game developer.
The buff dragon is locked to Kickstarter backers until nesting is implemented in which case non-backers will be able to unlock the dragon that way. Day of Dragons currently holds a 60% mixed rating on Steam.
