And the horse you rode in on.
Developer Miso Games has a promising career ahead of them in the industry. Actually those aren’t the right words. The words I’m looking for are short and probably ending in a lot of contempt.
Supermarket Simulator launched into Early Access on February 11 and you might be thinking “boy this looks boring and pointless.” You aren’t the only one, since the game has racked up 15 reviews with a “mostly negative” 33% rating, and many of the reviews state that the game is boring and pointless.
Evidently the “content” in Supermarket Simulator right now is composed of picking up a few items on your list and checking out. The developer’s response? They quit. Supermarket Simulator has been canned in under a week and a half and retired from sale at the publisher’s request.
Despite knowing that the game was in an awful state, they pushed it out anyway expecting the reception to be a little better. Shut up and hand over that cash, and all of that.
I knew the game had very little content and likely would get some complaints but overall the reception was much worse than I expected!
So i’d rather stop early than work on something that people don’t want anyway. After being removed from the store I will make the game free to download, hell I can even give away the source code for whomever would be interested.
Nothing says fantastic developer like one that puts out a hunk of shovelware and can’t be bothered supporting it past week two before throwing in the towel. MMO Fallout will be keeping a special eye on Miso Games for their future releases. That is assuming there are any.
