Rogue Planet Games has announced the official launch date for Planetside 2’s next big expansion Escalation is set for March 11. Originally scheduled for a February 26 launch, Escalation has seen a few delays to iron out the more troublesome bugs that have presented themselves during testing.
Head of Rogue Planet Games Andy Sites stated the following in a Producer’s Letter published today:
As you know, this will be one of the biggest PlanetSide 2 updates we’ve done since launch back in 2012. Not only do we feel an obligation to live up to the immense level of hype surrounding Escalation, but as the newly formed Rogue Planet Games studio, we want to set the tone in terms of quality for all future updates. Which is why we have been MUCH more aggressive playtesting this update on the Public Test Server (PTS) than you may have been accustomed to in the past.
Escalation introduces a ton of new content to Planetside 2 with an emphasis on communal content for the game’s outfits (clans). Outfits now have access to their own Bastion, a massive floating craft that requires a coordinated attack in order to bring down.
