Today’s snapshots come to us from RuneScape where April Fools’ Day is in full swing. If you head over to the cabbage field west of Draynor Village, you’ll find an overgrown cabbage that spawns every 10 minutes. Shred the oversized cabbage and it will drop a cabbage boson that can be redeemed for one of four rewards.
Rewards include two titles as well as a ring of rares (turns you into one of RuneScape’s rare items), and a ring of cabbage (result unknown). Players who defeat the oversized cabbage multiple times can get all four rewards. Additionally you may notice players including yourself randomly shouting cabbage-pun phrases in chat, this is part of the joke.
Cabbages have been a running gag in RuneScape dating back to RuneScape Classic (2001-2003 era) where the profanity filter used to replace bad words with “cabbage.” As such, cabbages have become a central theme of many April Fools’ Day events.
