Mobility: PUBG Mobile League Returns May 7

The first season of the PUBG Mobile Americas league will take place from June 6 to June 28 and will move to an online format to protect the health of players, staff, and viewers. The new format will also see the addition of scrims to warm up viewers and pro-players before the season fully begins.

The scrim season starts May 7 and will include ten teams from North America and ten teams from South America with matches broadcast four days per week until May 31 with daily prize pools waiting to be doled out. To spice things up each team will have an “on fire card” that can be played once per day on the weekend to either double their kill points or gain extra placement points.

“In order to ensure the safety of everyone, which is of paramount importance to us, we have decided to completely reimagine the first season of the PMPL Americas as an online competition,” said James Yang, Director of PUBG MOBILE Global EsportsTencent Games. “While this has not been a decision we’ve taken lightly, we do think it also generates new opportunities and exciting avenues for teams to gain even more exposure, while enjoying an improved format and quality, with a new exciting twist to it!”

The PUBG Mobile world league is expected to be delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. Eager viewers can check out the scrim matches on the official PUBG Mobile Youtube channel.
