So Epic Games has finally revealed this week’s free game and it is…
Just kidding. The game is Grand Theft Auto V. The Epic Games Twitter account accidentally tweeted the reveal earlier today, which has since been deleted but not before Comicbook.com took a snapshot.
The Epic Game Store is no stranger to weekly free offerings in the form of various AAA and indie games, but this week Epic decided to ramp up the mystery and keep this week’s game a secret right up until the final reveal. A leak suggested that the title would be Grand Theft Auto V but otherwise Epic hadn’t been dropping any hints. Just the locked door teaser suggesting the game would be huge.
One thing is for sure; you can definitely expect the Epic Games Store to have connection problems for the next few hours. The plus side is that you have until May 21 to redeem the game and keep it forever. Even if you don’t have a computer that can run GTAV right now, you can still redeem it for your future gaming PC.
We are currently experiencing high traffic on the Epic Games Store.
We are aware that users may be encountering slow loading times, 500 errors, or launcher crashing at this time and we are actively working to scale. We’ll provide an update as soon as we can.
