Sony Cancels PlayStation 5 Event Amid Unrest

The event is postponed to an unknown date.

Sony today announced that they are postponing the PlayStation 5 event scheduled for June 4 in order to “stand back and allow more important voices to be heard.” The news comes on the tail end of a weekend of intense protests, looting, and destruction across the United States in response to the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minnesota police officers. The tweet expresses sentiment that right now is not “a time for celebration.”
