PSA: APB Players Need To Disable Their Macros/Scripts Before June 10

As game shifts over to BattlEye Anti-Cheat.

APB: Reloaded players should be disabling their scripts and macros to avoid a potential false positive ban as the game shifts over to BattlEye Anti-Cheat. This week’s update to APB: Reloaded contains a number of changes including gun trials, renovations on the Joker store, and other updates aimed at smoothing the new user experience.

It will also probably lead to some false positive bans, and that’s why we are here for you. If you play APB: Reloaded you probably missed CEO Matt Scott’s update back on May 31 where he detailed why they were shifting from Easy Anti-Cheat to BattlEye and in that case you most definitely missed his warning at the bottom of the post.

The short of it is that APB has a problem with scripted triggerbots and aimbots that as Matt Scott notes are “easy to spot, but they are easy to false positive.” He recognizes that there are many legitimate uses for scripting systems and that players don’t often realize that they are enabled by default when they enter the game.

Once BattlEye gets implemented, APB: Reloaded is going to take aim at the heart of these cheats and as such players need to shut off their macros and hot key systems when this update goes live.

With all of that in mind, once we switch to BattlEye we are going to start taking measures against the systems that these cheats are written in. This may be a little bumpy, and I guarantee some players will not read the forums and find themselves very frustrated. But I am taking this step to let all of you to know in advance, that you need to disable your macros and hot key / mouse scripting systems.

Shut it down, folks.
