Steam Cleaned: Valve Bans More Shovelware Anime Games

LipStudio and YouNeedATowel get their pink slip.

It’s that time of the week again as Valve has given the boot to yet another small handful of devs selling shovelware anime games to the Internet Memesters Union. The first “developer” of note is YouNeedATowel whose main export appears to be the same terrible stock shooter loved by every other untalented Russian shovelware developer. The kind with random stock asset anime girls. Their other main crop are terrible puzzle games where the goal is to uncover hentai pictures you could easily just Google.

They also had another title in the works called Presidents Battlegrounds which is exactly what we’ve come to expect from a lot of Russian Steam developers; low-key political propaganda disguised as a “satire” meme game where you mostly play as dictators murdering people. There was also a Riot Simulator asset flip looking game because memes.

LipStudio meanwhile seems to have made its income off of repackaging basically the same shoddy looking flash games with slightly modified levels. Take a look at Fangs of Fear and Invader and tell me this wasn’t a thirty second edit.

Unless the developers come out and give a reason for their ban, and if they are like 99% of other developer bans they won’t, all we can do is speculate as to the reason Valve finally showed these two the door. Experience tells me that one or both of these two might be alt accounts of prior banned devs.

The entire list of games from both developers is as follows:

  • Holy Sisters
  • Holy Sisters 3D
  • Holy Sisters DLC 18 Plus
  • Holy Sisters 3D – DLC 18 Plus
  • Call of Anime: Vietnam War
  • Holy Sisters 3D – Multiplayer Edition
  • Call of Anime: Vietnam War – Artbook 18+
  • Sex with Hand
  • Fangs of Fear
  • Midsummer
  • Riot Simulator
  • Presidents Battlegrounds
