Standing Stone Games seems lost on a fix.
Lord of the Rings Online has been burning to the ground for the past week, and Standing Stone Games doesn’t seem any closer to finding a permanent fix than they did a week ago. Our better compadres over at MassivelyOP have been keeping a close eye on this for the last week but the Lord of the Rings Online servers have been undergoing major downtime with continued instability.
The servers have been reopened however most in-game chat and friend/ignore lists have been disabled and two servers (Arkenstone and Sirannon) are still offline until further notice. I personally checked in to the game to see how it was holding up this morning and found that my server (Gladden) is online but incredibly unstable. This is apparently the norm across most of the worlds.
Small or not, no MMO studio should ever go nearly a week with servers being down without releasing an informative statement. This definitely is serious and it needs to be communicated better than one-line “servers are down” notices. #lotro #lotrofamily
