That stands for dead on yer asses.
Rocket Arena is the latest shooter game launched by Final Strike Games and published by Electronic Arts. It runs $30 on Steam and consoles. Rocket Arena was originally going to be free to play and published by Nexon before the two parted ways and Final Strike joined forces with Electronic Arts only for the partnership to decide that the game was really best suited to have a $30 up front cost.
Did they get rid of the burdensome cash shop that would have been more appropriate in a free to play game or improve the quality of the game to justify the box price? Of course not. Unfortunately for Final Strike and EA it looks like the gaming community saw through this one from a mile away because the game has launched to critical indifference.
Steam Charts shows the game peaking at 913 players with a 24 peak of 146 over the last day or so. Being a multiplayer-only title the lack of players means that Rocket Arena has virtually no content to speak of. Even with cross-play, players are reporting that finding a match takes much longer than actually playing a match.
Over at Origin, Rocket Arena is already enjoying an 84% discount two weeks after launch. Just $5 from its normal $30. There has been speculation that Rocket Arena will go free to play with the upcoming Season 1 launch but it’s up for debate on whether or not that will help the sinking ship that is this game.
