Red Dead Online this week has launched its latest Frontier Pursuit; The Naturalist. The Naturalist introduces new legendary animals to the world of Red Dead Online, tasking players with hunting down specimens and furthering the cause of researching these interesting beasts.
Use the sedative varmint cartridge with the new varmint rifle to collect samples of these animals and use an animal reviver to ensure that they are not left in danger. Deliver animal parts, skins, and hides to Gus Macmillan for high quality garments and other unique items. New free roam events include defending a legendary animal from poachers as well as tagging animals from certain species to obtain samples while dealing with poachers.
Outlaw pass #3 is now available for free and unlocks new perks as you level it up. There are 80 ranks to unlock between now and October 19. Naturalists earn 2x payouts on tier 3 legendary animal samples and whole carcass sales through August 3. PlayStation users have access to a number of free goodies as well as Twitch Prime subscribers.
