Game Pass Ditches the “Xbox” and Comes To Mobile September 15

With Project xCloud.

Xbox Game Pass is ditching the Xbox and coming to mobile. We’ve known for a long time now that Microsoft was looking to expand the reach of its libraries and bring an end to the days when you needed an Xbox console in order to play Xbox games. Game Pass was expanded to the PC platform and Microsoft has been working behind the scenes to introduce xCloud, its streaming platform and competitor to Google Stadia.

Last month Microsoft announced that Project xCloud would be included in the Game Pass for no additional cost. Today however Microsoft announced that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (we’re hitting anime-tier title length) subscribers will be able to play their library of Game Pass games through xCloud. Over 100 titles will be available at launch on September 15 for play on Android phone or tablets.

Those taking part in the preview program for xCloud will remain in the preview until September 11.
