Disintegration’s Multiplayer Is Dissolving November 17

V1 announces Disintegration’s disintegration.

Disintegration has announced the sunset of its multiplayer mode just three months after launch. V1 Interactive have posted an announcement that while the game had adopted quite the single player focused community, the multiplayer had never lived up to expectations or performed well enough to build a proper experience.

As a result the in-game store will shut down today and the servers as a whole will go offline on November 17.

We have made the difficult decision to remove Disintegration’s multiplayer modes from the game across all platforms. This will be done in phases over the coming months, starting today with the removal of the in-game store, and will conclude on November 17th with the full removal of multiplayer. The single player campaign will remain fully playable moving forward.

According to SteamDB as of this publishing Disintegration peaked at 553 concurrent players and has a 24 hour peak of five. Given those numbers the idea that the game hasn’t been quite a success isn’t so shocking.

Single player will still be available once the servers go offline. Perhaps V1 will consider lowering the price to reflect all the content being cut.
