You should probably still protect your password.
Dexerto is reporting that 500,000 Activision accounts may have been hacked and Activision is saying no they haven’t. Andrew Amos of Dexerto posted a headline earlier today forwarding claims circulating around Twitter that over half a million Activision accounts had been hacked with account details posted publicly for all to see.
Activision meanwhile has come out on Twitter to vehemently deny that the speculation is true. They did however go on to state that players should be taking their account security seriously regardless.

A lot of these claims of service hacks tend to be the result of usernames and passwords being leaked from various third party services with those usernames/emails/passwords matched to services like Activisions. The list of usernames and passwords may be valid, but they would have been sourced from other data breaches.
Activision does not currently offer any two factor authentication methods to enhance user security.
