They are giving refunds.
What’s worse than a free game? A free game that you have to pay full price for. Although in that sense it wouldn’t be much of a free game.
Be that as it may, Epic Games is apologizing and sending refunds after some were accidentally billed for the redemption of ABZÛ and Rising Storm 2: Vietnam during this last week’s free game period.
We’ve identified an issue where some players were inadvertently charged for downloading ABZÛ and Rising Storm 2: Vietnam during their free week.
Any players that were inadvertently charged will be fully refunded. Both games will remain free until 11am ET on October 15.

October 15 will transition to Epic’s new free titles which consist of Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs and Kingdom New Land.
