A sign of Valve’s failures.
If you want an example of Valve’s continued embarrassing lack of quality control, look no further than Lonath Online, a game that has remained on the Steam store despite years of people reporting the title and attempting to bring it to Valve’s attention. Lonath Online launched on October 16, 2015. Its developer 4NetGames up and abandoned it and hasn’t posted anything since late 2015.
Lonath Online is a scam. Its servers haven’t been functioning since at least May 2016 and yet somehow the game is still on sale for $6.99. Is anyone buying it? Does that really matter? The reviews and forums should be enough to keep most people who stumble upon it from making a purchase, but despite repeatedly reporting the title and being aware of its existence and the fact that they are selling a non-functioning online game whose servers shut down four years ago, Valve has so far refused to take action against the game or pull it from the store.
So just in case 4NetGames surfaces somewhere online in the coming future, which I doubt will happen, just remember that the company perpetuated a scam and left it running for years. I can’t imagine they’ve made much out of it but it’s the thought that counts.
