Original Story: The Journal De Montreal is reporting that ‘dozens’ of people are being held hostage in the Ubisoft Montreal building on the corner of Saint-Laurent and St-Viateur. The exact details on the situation are unknown and unfolding as this is published, however outlet La Presse has reported it as a commercial robbery according to the local police department.

They report;

“We received a call for robbery at a commercial premises. At the moment, we are in the verification stage” said the spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Véronique Comtois, without wanting to go any further.

We will continue updating this story as it unfolds. Our thoughts go out to those in the building and we are hoping for the safest possible outcome for the staff as well as the emergency responders currently on location.
