You may have been shocked to find yourself the proud parent of a ten pound bouncing baby patch today, as Fallout 76’s servers went down for maintenance for an unplanned update. The Steel Dawn expansion which was supposed to hit on December 1 is launching today. That’s November 24 for those of you reading this in the future.
As it turns out Bethesda accidentally launched Steel Dawn earlier today on Xbox, and rather than rolling back that version they just decided to launch it early for everyone. Hopefully this won’t go poorly.
Earlier today, there was an error that caused players in our Xbox community to download the Steel Dawn Update ahead of schedule, but prevented them from actually playing. We immediately investigated ways to get our Xbox players back in-game as soon as possible, but, through our discussions, the entire BGS team felt confident that Steel Dawn is ready to go.
