Fortnite Season 5 is here.
Fortnite Season 5 has finally dropped and you know what that means; story, new characters, and hints at things to come.
To summarize where we are in the story; Fortnite’s overarching plot revolves around the island and a mysterious power called the Zero Point. The characters we play as in Fortnite’s world are caught within the loop, the battle royale being a repeating event that entraps people and makes them forget who they were before entering. There is also a mysterious entity called The Seven whose motivations are unclear. There have been a number of outside factions seeking the Zero Point either to utilize its power, contain it and keep the island operating, or to destroy it and set its victims (players) free. This culminated in last season when Galactus noticed the Zero Point and attempted to consume its power.
This season starts with Agent Jonesy entering the Zero Point which was exposed by Galactus at the end of last season. Jonesy’s plan is to create chaos in the Fortnite realm in order to keep the combatants distracted while he seals the Zero Point back up and preventing anyone from exiting the loop. To do this he has brought in a number of bounty hunters from all over the multiverse.
Heading up this season is the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda as playable characters. There’s a number of bounty hunters available from the start including the odd Mancakes. The game does imply that more hunters will be added as the season progresses and Jonesy continues his work toward getting the Zero Point sealed.
