UbiMassive Is Working On A Star Wars Game

Ending EA’s exclusivity over the franchise.

The era of EA-exclusive Star Wars titles is over. This week shocked and dazzled the mind as Disney announced the formation of LucasFilm Games and revealed that the Star Wars franchise would be licensed out to new and exciting opportunities. Electronic Arts obtained exclusive rights to the franchise back in 2012, a period that was expected to last for ten years. Now that the exclusivity deal is coming to an end, we are starting to see the announcement of new upcoming titles by new studios.

The subject of this article being UbiMassive. UbiMassive is currently working on a Star Wars title with very little known about the title at this time. The Division 2 director Julian Gerighty has taken on the role of creative director. The game also runs on UbiMassive’s proprietary Snowdrop engine. One can probably surmise that the game will be open world, have some sort of online shared-world element, and contain plenty of space towers to be climbed.

Stick this one on the long term docket. There probably won’t be much information for a good while, but it’s nice to know that the post-EA exclusive titles are already being announced.
