Life Is Feudal Sunsets Today

Two years after its early access launch.

Life Is Feudal: The MMO is no more. It has ceased to be. A stiff. Gone to meet its maker. Pining for the fjords. I don’t remember any other parts of that Monty Python sketch.

We all knew this day was coming, especially since the folks at Bitbox ltd. explicitly announced it last month. Last month Bitbox announced that Life Is Feudal the MMO would shut down due to a business deal apparently gone sour. The announcement was vague, but pointed to Bitbox being done over by a business partner and not having the funds to go through the proper legal channels for recourse and compensation. As a result the game would shut down January 18.

That’s today.

A couple of days ago we received an official letter from a certain company that basically says that they will stop paying us our share from LiF: MMO. There is nothing much we can do in a legal way since we do not have the required funds to pay for the costly legislation in the US. Especially in a situation where our own hard-earned money will be most probably used against us.

Payment processor Xsolla was given permission to refund all purchases dating back to November 1. The Chinese version of Life Is Feudal will apparently remain on development track, however whether it will be available in English is another story. Both Life Is Feudal: Your Own and Forest Village will continue to remain online. For the foreseeable future at least.
