Steam: Xaviant Abandoned Another Game

Xaviant strikes again.

Here at MMO Fallout one of our jobs is to warn people about developers they should avoid putting their hard earned money into. One of those developers is Xaviant, a company that has repeatedly attempted to lazily re-release The Culling while adding nothing of value to the game that they originally ruined through a combination of ineptitude and general contempt for their customer base. The Culling Origins was dead before it even released.

What you might not know since the number of outlets covering Xaviant is basically relegated to myself and YongYea, is that Xaviant was working on another title at the time. The title is Don’t Die, Minerva! A rogue-lite launched into early access and abandoned roughly at the time Xaviant moved its nonexistent studio over to the latest unattended Culling launch. Don’t Die, Minerva! was supposed to launch out of early access in Summer. It didn’t. In fact it hasn’t been updated since March 2020.

Now I’m fairly certain that Xaviant doesn’t have any employees except for Josh Van Veld who checks in every now and then to see if the Steam sales have surpassed the $100 needed for Valve to cut a check. Having no pension for professional courtesy, Josh himself hasn’t even bothered showing up to give as much as a comment on Steam since April.

Xaviant: Set Those Expectations Lower.
