June 8.
Lord of the Rings Online will end support for Windows XP on June 8. The announcement came earlier this week from Standing Stone Games, confirming that the game will no longer be accessible in the next month. Thankfully LOTRO is an MMO, which means players won’t lose anything associated with their accounts.
The Lord of the Rings Online will be deprecating support for Windows XP and earlier operating systems as of June 8th, 2021. All of your characters and progress will remain, and you can continue to play the game by running LOTRO on a Windows 7 or newer operating system. Players who need to can contact Account Support at help.standingstonegames.com. Thank you!
For those players still on Windows XP, now is a fantastic time to upgrade your computer. Or stop playing the copy of LOTRO you side-loaded into the office computer that still runs on Windows XP.
