It’s the cat’s pajamas of games to not play.
If I had a dollar for every browser-based ARPG shipped out from China that shows up on Steam and peters out instantly, I’d be drowning in dollars. Legends of IdleOn is exactly what it sounds like; an idle MMO that tasks players with setting up their characters and sending them on their merry ways. You can chop things, mine things, kill things, do things. And by you I mean the game and by the game I mean it plays itself.
Personally I’m not a fan of the title because the loot system as it exists now is pretty terrible. The game gives you no control over picking up items and every login is a bout of frustration for me.
But the player base seems to love it. They love not playing the game. Since its launch a month and a half ago, Legends of IdleOn has pretty steadily maintained in the three to five thousand concurrent players. Reviews set the game at a 90% very positive rating. The self-referential humor reminds me somewhat of Dungeon Runners. Oh Dungeon Runners.
If you’re looking for a new thing to log into every now and then to reap the rewards of characters you didn’t really play, check out Legends of IdleOn. Available for free on Steam in Early Access.
